Army-Navy football game presented by USAA will be played in five different cities over the next five years
ANNAPOLIS, Md.—The Army-Navy football game presented by the USAA, “America’s Game,” will be played in five different cities over the next five years, the director of Naval Academy athletics Chet Gladchuk and West Point Army Director of Athletics Mike Buddie.
Boston / Foxborough will host the 2023 game on December 9, Washington, DC / Landover, Md. will host the 2024 game on December 14, Baltimore will host the 2025 game on December 13, New York City / East Rutherford, NJ will host the game of 2026 on December 12 and Philadelphia will host the 2027 game on December 11. All five games will be nationally televised by CBS.
“The extraordinary efforts made throughout the bidding process made the evaluations and final city selections very competitive,” Gladchuk said. “Submissions included local, city, and state dignitaries to ensure the most comprehensive presentation could be made to the judging committee. The promotional partnership we share with USAA has clearly bolstered the enthusiastic interest in hosting the Army game. -Navy by many of our nation’s largest cities.Our destinations over the next five years offer the academies the opportunity to share the economic impact, history and tradition of the Army and Navy with a number of communities in various geographies. We are confident that each location will present a unique accommodating experience for our fans and make for an incredibly memorable event for our midshipmen and cadets. The 2023 game will be hosted in the Boston area in conjunction with the 250e anniversary of the Boston Tea Party and the 225e anniversary of the maiden voyage of the USS Constitution. This will be the first time the Army-Navy game will be played in the New England area and Navy will serve as the home team.
The nation’s capital will be the backdrop for the 2024 game, which will also be the 125e play the Army-Navy game. It will only be the second time the game has been played in the DC area and the first since 2011, a game in which Navy won 27-21. Army will serve as the home team.
The game will return to Baltimore in 2025 with Fort McHenry, the site where Francis Scott Key wrote the lyrics to the national anthem, serving as the backdrop. This will be the seventh time Baltimore has hosted the game and the first time since 2016. Both teams are 3-3 in games played in Baltimore. Navy will serve as the home team.
New York/New Jersey will host the 2026 game as part of the 25th anniversary of 9/11. It will be the 19the times the game was played in New York or New Jersey and the sixth time it was played at the Meadowlands Complex. Navy is 4-1 against Army in games played at East Rutherford, including a 17-13 win last December. Army will serve as the home team.
Philadelphia to host annual Army-Navy game for 91st in 2027. The City of Brotherly Love is also hosting this year’s game at Lincoln Financial Field on December 10. Navy leads the all-time series 45-40-4 in games played in Philadelphia. Navy will be the home team for the 2027 game.
The 123rd the Army-Navy game is Saturday, Dec. 10 at 3:00 p.m. in Philadelphia at Lincoln Financial Field. Navy leads the all-time series 62-53-7 and has won two of the last three, 16 of the last 20 and 18 of the last 23 contests.
